Privacy policy

1. Who we are

ParkpalGB ("we", "us") runs parkpal.space and decides how your personal data is used for bookings. You can contact us by email at parkpal.bookings@gmail.com or on WhatsApp.

2. What we collect

When you book or ask us a question, we collect:

  • your phone number and WhatsApp details, and your name if you give it;
  • your vehicle registration, the street you choose and your booking dates;
  • the messages you send us;
  • payment details we need to match your payment to your booking, such as a bank transfer reference.

3. What the website itself does

The website has no accounts and no advertising or tracking cookies. It stores your light or dark mode choice in your own browser; that is not sent to us.

The chat box on the site only prepares a message. Nothing is sent to us until you tap send on WhatsApp.

The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details. Our hosting provider, Vercel, also receives your IP address and technical details when you visit.

4. Why we use your data

We use it to:

  • carry out your booking and keep our side of it (contract);
  • keep records for accounts and tax (legal obligation);
  • answer enquiries, deal with problems and prevent misuse of the service (legitimate interests).

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only where needed:

  • WhatsApp (Meta) and your phone network, which carry our messages;
  • our bank and payment providers, to take and refund payments;
  • Google (fonts) and Vercel (hosting), as in section 3;
  • the authorities, if the law requires it.

6. Other countries

Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where that happens, your data is protected by safeguards the law allows, such as approved contract terms.

7. How long we keep it

We keep booking details for as long as we need them to deal with your booking, any dispute, and our accounting and tax records, and then delete or anonymise them.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your data;
  • correct it;
  • delete it, or restrict how we use it;
  • stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests;
  • move it to another provider, where this applies.

9. Complaints

Tell us first by email at parkpal.bookings@gmail.com or on WhatsApp, and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We may update this policy. The latest version is always on this page.
